Mr. Hall was awarded his Masters of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Washington in 1984. He also received the degrees of Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. Mr. Hall holds a DMA, ABD (all but dissertation) in Choral Conducting. Mr. Hall has studied Choral conducting under Rodney Eichenberger and Abraham Kaplan, and Orchestral conducting under Robert Feist, Sam Krachmalnick, Vilem Sokol, and Michele Singher. Beside the Northwest Chorale, which Mr. Hall founded in 1978, he has extensive conducting experience. He has been the Director of several large ensembles over the years, including the University of Washington University Singers, the Esperance Baptist Church Choir, the Seattle Area Lutheran Chorale and Orchestra, and the Christ Church Choir and Orchestra. He was Assistant Conductor of both the University Oratorio Chorus and the University Chorale. Mr. Hall has also directed several smaller ensembles, including the University of Washington Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the Manna Singers, the Raretones, and Sing Noel. Some of these groups were semi-professional. Mr. Hall has served as Music director for many several area churches, including St. Josephs Parish in Seattle, Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood, and Bethany Lutheran Church in Seattle. He is currently the music director at Woodinville Community United Methodist Church in Woodinville, WA, and teaches in the Seattle public school system. Mr. Hall is a member of the American Choral Directors' association, the Puget Sound Choral Conductors' Guild, and the Washington State Teachers' Association. |
